TRAVEL INFORMATION
Potential participants are fully responsible for making their travel and accommodation arrangements, and should note that the WIETE will not take any responsibility or be held accountable for any cancellation of accommodation and travel tickets due to any unforeseen events that may cause the Conference to be cancelled, postponed or transferred to another location. The WIETE accepts no responsibility whatsoever for their direct dealings with the Hotel and/or any other organisations. It is highly advisable that potential participants should avoid purchasing non-refundable flight tickets.
THE VENUE AND ACCOMMODATION
Cairns in North Queensland, Australia, is one of the prime tourist destinations in the Pacific Rim and is widely regarded as the pearl of the South Pacific. Cairns provides visitors with an unforgettable experience and the opportunity of encountering an environment that is unique in every respect. With access to the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s most beautiful rainforest, the mountains, the ocean and other tourist destinations, it provides a unique, spectacular and picturesque environment. Hence, potential conference participants are encouraged to seriously consider this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
A number of hotels and motels are in walking distance from the venue. However, the WIETE was able to negotiate an excellent deal on behalf of Conference participants with Pacific International Hotel Cairns, a 4*+ hotel located in the prime position in Cairns on the Esplanade, which will provide the Conference venue. Although conference participants are fully responsible for arranging their own accommodation, Pacific International Hotel Cairns will be able to accommodate Conference participants at highly reduced and competitive prices. For example, the deal includes the following price structure:
Standard room, single or twin share @ $A129 per room per night or standard room, single, with breakfast @ $A139 per room per night or standard room, twin share, with breakfast @ $A149 per room per night.
This will provide participants with the opportunity of free accommodation for their spouses, if they wish to attend.
It is envisaged that the Hotel will also assist Conference participants with their tourist and travel arrangements, for instance by organising pre- and post-Conference tours. Moreover, participants will be able to extend their stay in the Hotel in order to help those planning their holidays in Cairns.
